Frank Johnson served on Active duty with the US Air Force (1973-1977), US Air Force Reserve (1977-1983) and later served as a Naval Supply Corp Officer (1984-2017) with the US Navy achieving the rank of Commander(O-5). He served a total of 39 years combined (active and reserve service). As a Naval Reserve Officer, he served as contracting specialist at Naval Regional Contracting unit Naples, ELSF-Cargo Handing Battalion Eight Officer in Charge, Fifth Fleet Logistics Support Unit (Executive Officer and Commanding Officer), Defense Logistics Agency Contingency Support (Operations Officer) and Forward Commander for DCST Kuwait (2004/2005), NAVSUP/OPNAV Contingency Logistics, ELSF- Supply Support Battalion Two Unit OIC.
In his civilian career he worked as an Avionics technical at McGuire AFB from 1977-1993. He was later employed by Defense Contract Management Agency (formerly DCAS) from 1984 until Sept 2017. He held various positions of increasing responsibility in the field of Quality Assurance overseeing large Defense contractors who provided materials and major Weapon Systems to the military services. He also served as a Lead Examiner for the DCMA Office of Independent Assessment Mission Review Team and as a Major platform Integrator for submarine programs managing the supply chain of these platforms. In his last assignment, he was the Quality Assurance Director for Defense Contract Management Agency Lockheed Martin overseeing radar, major weapon systems and Satellite programs. He held Defense Acquisition University certification in Program Management and Production, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
He completed the Community College of the Air Force Electrical Systems Technology program in 1984. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2004 majoring in business and later graduated from American Graduate University majoring in Acquisition management.
He currently serves as the Chaplain and Membership Committee chair for Medford Post 7677.
He is married to Pam and has 3 sons.
