William R. Kilburn Jr., known affectionately as Bill to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at the age of 90 in Voorhees, NJ. Born on January 16, 1934, in Philadelphia, Bill lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his craft.

In his personal life, Bill was a devoted husband to his beloved spouses, the late Jeanne Kilburn and Urshula Burgess-Kilburn. He was a loving father to Martin (Donna), Robert (Gail), David (Kim), Mary Beth Burgess (Doug), and the late Denise. He also cherished his role as a stepfather to James Burgess Jr. (Sharon), Doug Burgess (Mary Beth), Brian Burgess, the late Greg Burgess (Amy), John Burgess (Michele), and Bridget Sawdy (Rob). His legacy extends to his 25 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his dear sister Lorraine Galone (Carmen) and predeceased by his sisters the late Madeline "Beb," and the late Dorothy "Tootieā€¯.

Bill proudly served his nation as a member of the United States Marines during the Korean War. After his military service, he embarked on a long and distinguished career as an electrician, dedicating 70 years to IBEW Local 98 where his expertise and work ethic were both respected and admired. He was also the former owner/operator of the Town Crier Gift Shoppe in Maple Shade, along with his late wife Jeanne.

Outside of his professional and family life, Bill had a passion for stamp collecting, a hobby he enjoyed throughout his entire life. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar and clarinet, especially with the band, and was meticulous when making his miniature models. His love for classic cars found a home with the EZ Rods Club, where he was an active member, sharing his enthusiasm and knowledge with fellow classic car aficionados. Additionally, Bill found solace and excitement on the water, spending many hours boating and appreciating the serenity it provided.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday July 18th from 9:30-10:45 AM at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Rd, Tabernacle, NJ 08088. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday at the church. Interment will be private at the Brigadier General William C Doyle Veteran Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
